2021 shopping malls data available for South Africa

AfricaScope is proud to announce that our 2021 update of the South African shopping malls geospatial data with their trade areas is now available. The data set contains over 1 900 shopping centers & includes information on their classification, GLA, number of stores, foot count, and anchor tenants. Each trade area has been developed using accessibility modeling with the total population capacity for each mall to be financially viable and the travel time across a transport network (as defined by the SA Council of Shopping Centres). Linked to each shopping mall trade area is 2020 demographic estimates by age, population group and gender. Other attributes can be accessed for each trade area including Living Standard Measures (LSM), income as well as other attributes.
