Katiso Rachabane
Managing Director & Technology Manager
Katiso holds a BSc Hons Degree in Genetics and Psychology. He is responsible for manageing research surveys, project planning, questionnaire design & programming, equipment/technologies setup and maintenance, fieldwork monitoring, quality control & data validating. He has worked on numerous studies such as Business Innovation Survey, stakeholder satisfaction survey, Enterprise Survey & attitudinal survey across Africa. He has been involved in qualitative research in understanding remittances from Botswana to Zimbabwe Survey, TIMS Regional Mapping Study and Safe Guard Young People Baseline Survey Lesotho. He also manages the web mapping portal of GeoScope.
Bob Currin
Director & Research Survey Manager
Bob Currin is the responsible for research surveys. Bob specializes in the conducting of financial, MSME, enterprise & client/staff satisfaction surveys in Africa and Asia. He has worked in more than 13 African countries and internationally in the advertising industry. Bob has worked for a wide variety of public and private sector organisations across Africa.
Craig Schwabe
Director & Geospatial Services Manager
Craig focuses on the geospatial/GIS activities of the company. He specializes in developing geospatial data products for South Africa and Africa. A further specialization is in the use of accessibility modelling to optimize government facilities and retail outlets. He has been an adviser to national governments, multilateral and multinational organizations in using geospatial data & analytics. Craig has published many reports, books, chapters and scientific papers as well as presented papers at a number of national and international conferences.
Sthembiso Makofane
GIS Analyst
Sthembiso is a graduate of the University of Pretoria and holds a BSc degree in geoinformation sciences. He participates on all geospatial projects and is specializing in the use of accessibility modelling in the optimization of retail facilities and in the defining of mall trade areas.
Thoriso Rachabane
Júnior Researcher
Thoriso assists in the research surveys environment by helping to set up data collection technology, programming of questionnaires and data cleaning. He also assist in the completing of tender documents for the company.
Sally Schwabe
GIS Analyst
Sally is an experienced GIS cartographer and GIS Analyst that assists in a number of areas. She presently assists with the management of company webinars and assisting on GIS projects. She is a skilled analyst that is able to work in various sectors from database development to sophisticated GIS analysis

Bruce McCormack
Marketing Manager
Bruce is a qualified town and regional planner with over 40 years of planning experience in both the public and private sectors in South Africa and Ireland. He has been closely involved in Geographic Information matters, representing Ireland in relation to the INSPIRE Directive and being the President of the European-wide focused European Umbrella Organisation for Geographic Information (EUROGI). He is currently EUROGI Vice President and the President of the Irish Organisation for Geographic Information (IRLOGI). For over two years he was Senior Advisor: Spatial Data Infrastructures to the World Bank. Bruce is based in the Republic of Ireland.
Johann Fenske
Technical Manager
Johann is the Technical Director at Africascope Europe and is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has over twelve years’ experience as a GIS Specialist and has strong geospatial software and hardware skills. He is fluent in the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS software as well as MicroImages’ TNT Mips software. His specializations include development of geospatial datasets, geospatial analysis and map production. He has also undergone training in conducting accessibility modelling.
